As-salāmu ʿAlaykum (Salaam Alykum)
Peace Be Upon You
That’s how we greet each other in Arabic—with a message of peace.
The MAS Bronx Muslim Center proudly represents the dynamic spirit of the Muslim American Society (MAS) in our region.
Our Mission: To move people and nurture lifelong, God-centered agents of change.
Our Vision: A vibrant American Muslim community striving for a just and virtuous society.
We strive to achieve these goals while embodying the principles of Islam with clarity, relevance, and compassion.
At the MAS Bronx, we focus on building a model Muslim community that is deeply integrated into the fabric of our local society and positively contributing to its development. We believe Islam is a movement for positive change—comprehensive, moderate, engaging, and transformative—a complete way of life.
Our priorities in the Bronx reflect the unique needs of our community:
- Empowering and investing in our youth as future leaders.
- Creating meaningful collaborations with diverse communities and organizations.
- Strengthening institutional support for Muslims in the Bronx and beyond.
- Developing programs that enhance understanding and foster unity.
While projects like the construction of our new Community Center serve as vital tools, our true mission extends beyond buildings. We are dedicated to the growth and development of our people—our human resources—ensuring the MAS Bronx becomes a beacon of light, learning, and leadership for generations to come.
We invite you to explore our MAS Community and join us in driving this mission forward. Your support—whether through time, commitment, or financial contributions—helps us achieve our shared vision of a stronger, more vibrant community.
With gratitude,
MAS Bronx Muslim Center
To move people and nurture lifelong, God-centered agents of change.
The MAS Bronx Muslim Center (MAS BRONX) is more than just a place of worship—it’s a vibrant hub for spiritual growth, community development, and social connection. While it serves as the heart of a large and diverse Muslim community, the MAS BRONX is committed to fostering a warm, inclusive, and tight-knit atmosphere where every individual feels valued and connected.
Our center focuses on nurturing lifelong, God-conscious agents of positive change through programs, services, and initiatives tailored to meet the unique needs of the Bronx community. From youth empowerment and educational programs to interfaith collaborations and social services, the MAS BRONX is dedicated to being a beacon of light and support for Muslims and the broader community alike.
The current status of the masjid highlights both our progress and the pressing need for expansion.
We currently operate out of a small and overcrowded masjid that accommodates fewer than 175 congregants, which falls short of meeting the needs of our growing community. This limitation underscores the urgency of completing the construction of our new Bronx Muslim Center, which will have the capacity to host over 2,000 worshipers.
The new facility is designed to serve as a vibrant hub for prayer, education, and community activities. With your support, we can create a space that not only meets the needs of today but also builds a foundation for future generations.
Currently we are working on the exterior envelope phase of construction, which involves developing the roof, waterproofing, storm drains, exterior doors and windows, as well as insulation. This phase is estimated to cost $1.5 million.
Once completed, the new masjid will accommodate over 2,000 worshipers. Your support will help us finish this critical phase and bring our vision for the new masjid to life!
